I attended opening night, and the innuendos and authority portrayed by Ms Sri were very well received by the audience. The character as written and as portrayed showed a very interesting growth in an arguably more mature direction, embracing and owning a more liberal bent, deftly balancing the conservatism of the time period and the maturity of a woman confident in all aspects of her being. This character was the foundation of the play, being the “host” inviting the audience and guiding all the characters (most specifically the sisters) through their respective developments.

I encourage you all to see this play! It is a wonderful combination of wit, thought-provoking dialog, and nostalgia.
